Background screening

The university is committed to providing a safe work environment, and USC's background screening program exists to help ensure that. We conduct pre-employment and employment screening that all job candidates must undergo and successfully complete. See the Criminal Background Screening policy.

In many cases, candidates can actually begin working before all screening is complete - although continued employment is contingent on the timely and successful completion of all required screening. See "Making the offer" on the Manager Gateway for details.

Note that some candidates cannot complete the background screening process through USC's applicant tracking system, including international candidates and clinical faculty, internal promotions and resource employees.
